Dear all,

I tried Winflector server under Suse Linux and Wine.

May be you didn't beleive, but it works. I start successfully wine notepad.exe in another wine session.

But afer a 10-20 second, winflector server terminate the client with an error message

"Error 53: Cannot start application. Loc[GTeInitializeCommunication] Ifo [SRV: killing application (non terminal EXE executed?), 847,0] SysErr [0]

I think, this is an interest question, will be great to use a Linux + Wine as a Windows application server :)

Wow! That is really something not expected. It gives us some estimation about the excellent work of Wine designers and implementers.

There must be a problem with the periodical application check peformed by Winflector server. We will look at the Winflector/Linux subject after releasing version 3.1.

You are right! It can be an interesting option to have Linux working as application server for Windows applications. Without the need of installing and maintaining X-server software on the client PCs. That is definitely something we will investigate deepper.

in the applog folder, there is nothing.

Hope, this info will help you for the future investigation.

Because I tried with a native wine, not windows applictions (wine notepad.exe and wine iexplore.exe) my next test will be with a native windows application.

BR,

Zdravko.

Next update: With a native Windows application (written in Delphi 7) result is the same.
