In summary, the ribbon bar in MS Access frequently freezes
In the screenshot everything inside the red box would be frozen, everything outside it works and is clickable still.
We use a Windows 7 Pro machine as the Winflector server. It has MS Access Runtime 2013. Each Winflector user has their own application configured which is the Runtime exe with a parameter to an Access database. Each user has their own copy of the database on the server's C drive. The DB is compiled in Access 2013 32bit.
A month or so ago it was brought to my attention that when a user opens a report in the app it may have the ribbon bar frozen out. This does not happen all the time. The report still works, you can scroll, page change, print with ctrl+p, close by using the cross at top right. If the report is closed and reopened the ribbon will still be frozen. The whole app must be closed and reloaded to unfreeze the ribbon.
I have now set up a brand-new machine with Windows 10 Pro and MS Access Runtime 2016. It is doing nothing else, a clean build. It is running the 2-user free license of Winflector and experiences the same problem.
Many of our users have a local copy of the Access DB too, they use this when on the LAN. This does not experience the issue.
Does anyone have a suggestion to troubleshoot or fix please?
