Hello there,

Our clients often complain that, when opening a Save File Dialog, browsing thru the local folders is too slow. Each new folder change takes about 40 seconds, sometimes more. Selecting a folder e.g: c:WfMountctempExportData can take almost 3 minutes.

Is there a way to improve this in our side?

Any perspective to improve the filesystem minifilter in future versions?

Please ensure that the client has not enabled debugging on the filesystem driver. This option can cause slowness and also produces large debug files on the server.

Hi Bozena,

Sorry for the long time without response.

I want to point out that this is still the biggest complaint while accessing our servers.

Regarding your comment:

> Please ensure that the client has not enabled debugging on the filesystem driver. This option can cause slowness and also produces large debug files on the server.

No, none of our clients have this option enabled, nor big log files are produced.

Is there any room / possibilities for improvent in this in future version?

PS: Note that in our case the latency is a little high (~ 80-100 ms), which may cause the slowness since Windows' files protocols (SMB / NTFS) are known to be quite "chatty".

Is your application 32- or 64-bit?

We now are running all of them in 32-bits, but may need to switch to 64-bits in the future.
