We have an odd situation and I'm not sure when that began.

We cannot start applications thru the Web interface using the native client (that is, the "Run" button option).

This message is shown: Error 52: SECURITY: Application execution forbidden - use WMTool (Winflector server/Preferences) to enable execution.,-5,0. Loc (GTeInitializeCommunication)

Despite that, using the same credentials to start the same app is possible thru the "Run in Browser" (HTML5) option or still running to the full client (outside the browser) also works.

Our configuration uses Windows/AD credentials and each user has its own application (due to arguments and start in directory parameters that are individual to each user). If I check the option "Make all applications available for selected user", it will also work.

We have ~17 applications and their IDs vary from 1 to 28 (with some id sequence skips, then). I'm *suspecting* this started when this list has overtaken a certain number, perhaps?

I also cleaned all the logs and simulated the situation just me, so below is the link with the generated isolated logs. First trying to run in the browser ("Run" option - failed), then the "Run in browser" option (ok!):

Hi,

I discovered an easy way to reproduce this:

- In winflector, add the same application with different parameters to it. E.g:

(Notepad 1) Exe: c:windowssystem32notepad.exe / Args: c:tempfile1.txt

(Notepad 2) Exe: c:windowssystem32notepad.exe / Args: c:tempfile2.txt

- Now, create an user and assign just the "Notepad 2" app to it

- Try to run using the web interface and launching the native client. It will show the message from my post above.

- Now, enable to this user also the "Notepad 1" application. Retry to launch and you will see it will work.

So it seems the client is trying to launch the first app it encounters with the matching .exe location, instead of relying just on the app ID.

Could you then please just give a feedback if this could be reproduced in your side?
