Hi tim,
It seems to be a known and already fixed bug in glib2, not related with your architecture (AMD64) or distribution (Ubuntu) or even Winflector, see more details here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=635694
This problem occurs if you run Winflector from a different account than you are logged in to your GUI shell. This means, if you run Winflector from the command line and you have used su or sudo or a similar command before. If this is the case then please do not change the user account or try to launch Winflector using the icon in your Programs menu.
Also there were some reports that this problem occurs always if you use Unity as your GUI shell. If you use it then please try using a different GUI, older and more stable, like GNOME, KDE, Xfce, LXDE, etc.
Finally, there should be a basic answer: please upgrade your glib2 library. This bug has been fixed in glib2 2.28.7 while yours is 2.28.6. I am not sure when the bug was introduced but it must have been in 2.25.4 or before. But we have failed to install the latest 64-bit Ubuntu with the latest 32-bit libraries due to broken dependencies in libgconf2-4 which is a problem of Ubuntu itself. I am not sure if installing the newer libraries on your machine is possible. I hope you will help yourself just avoiding su, sudo and Unity.
