Hi,

I use Winflector on several different sites that I support, to allow remote access to a specific application.

However I have ran into a problem at one of the sites. When the Windows accounts is either locked or logged out of (the PC is still running), the server application stops running. If I log back into the Windows account the application doesn't appear in the system tray, if I try to run the Sever app again it tells me that the application is already running. After a few minutes the application will appear within the tray again, without any input from me.

On all of the other sites I have this setup on, this isn't the case. I've had a look at both Windows and Winflector settings and can't find anything that helps.

Have any one else experienced this sort of issue?

Hi,

Winflector server stops if the account is logged out. It is not a service. It should work properly if the account is logged in and the desktop is locked. When you log in, windows task scheduler waits about one-two minutes and then launches Winflector server. The server has to run some other services and after that is ready to accept client connections.

Sometimes operating system (especially Windows 10) installs some updates and automatically is restarted at night. The only way is to configure automatic login after restart.

Mirek

Hi,

Just started a test enviroment for a customor with your product and had the same issue like stated above. I am curious if auto start as a service has been explored at all or on the roadmap for the future

Due to Windows limitations for now there is not possible to implement Winflector as a service.

Hello. Just registered for this forum and looking to purchase Winflector. My situation is this. I currently RDP into my server (Windows 2008 R2) and then run an app called medilink. I have to start a remote session just to run this app. Would be nice to run the app without having to RDP into the server. So the app runs within my Remote Desktop rather than directly on my server. Does this mean I need to install Winflector within my Remote Desktop? And does that mean my Remote Desktop session needs to remain active for the Winflector app to allow me to access the medilink app? Thanks Ilesh

Winflector server requires an own Windows session to run. You can install it in some way (locally or using RDP). Then you configure Winflector to start automatically in a separated session (no need to run RDP).
