Hi, hoping you're doing well

I installed winflector server in Windows Server 2012 R2, 16 Gb RAM and i5 CPU

And I did the next configuration:

- I made a group in Users name "Phindows Users" (see domain_users_1.png)

- I added few domain user into the group ( see domain_users_2.png)

- I configured winflector server to work with "Local Windows / Active Directory" option and I also configured the "domain name" and the "authorize group" (see domain_users_3.png)

- I tried to login using a username and password (of the domain) (see domain_users_4.png)

- I couldn't log in using those credentials (they are valid) and in the login error message didn't appear the correct domain (in this case TERNIUM) instead appeared the PC name (see domain_users_5.png)

- I tried to log in again using an alternative format, putting before the username the domain (see domain_users_6.png)

- I couldn't log in either, and the login error message just like before didn't appear the correct domain (see domain_users_7.png)

- With the same configuration, I tried to log in using a local user (see domain_users_8.png)

- But I couldn't log in because this user is not part of the authorize group (see domain_users_9.png)

So, what is the correct configuration to log in using domain credentials?, we cannot use winflector local users, we need to use domain users.

I attached the images.

Marcos

Hello,

1. Check if it is possible to run application using native (not html) client

2. Use full name of domain (ternium.techint.net) at the client side

3. Check if your server allows local logins (it is necessary for proper work): http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1944436/windows-server-2012-domain-user-log-domain-controller-locally.html

Mirek, hoping you're doing well

I did what you suggested and I got the same failure, I also tried all combinations with the domain name (ternium / ternium.techint.net) at the both sides

But the error you have shown on the picture (#2033/10060) suggests that you have problem with connection to the server not with login/domain. 10060 means 'timeout expired'. The server had no chance to check your credentials, because VTM even did not connect to it.

Hi, hoping you're doing well

So, am I configuring something wrong?, I also tried the same configuration (using domain users) with a WIN 8 and I got the same results

What can I check to winflector work properly with domain users?

Thanks for all your support

Regards,

Marcos

Hi, hoping you're doing well

I'm still trying to configure winflector to use domain users...

  • imagen1: my user and the group configured to access are added in the log on locally properties.
  • imagen2: it shown the users allowed in the Phindows Users group
  • imagen3: it shown the server configured with the full domain name and the group allowed to access
  • imagen4: it shown the server configured with the short domain name and the group allowed to access
  • imagen5: it didn't work with either configuration, when I tried lo log in I cannot do it and in the domain name still shown the PC name not the domain

I also tested the instructions of this page....

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1944436/windows-server-2012-domain-user-log-domain-controller-locally.html

hoping this somehow help

Marcos

Connection error (#2033/10060) does not depend on correct/incorrect domain configuration. There should be a problem on the network protocol level or you just have not clicked 'Start' button on your Winflector server. To check your connection, just turn on Winflector authorization, create any user account (for example 'test' with password 'test') and try to run notepad or calc application.

When you configure Windows users, please check 'Assign applications to Windows/AD users' and then click button 'Update users'. If Winflector recognizes your domain, all members of 'Phindow users' should be displayed in the 'User profiles list:' listbox.

Hi, hoping you're doing well

I did what you recommened and let me tell you that the winflector server was running ok in all the previous tests, here the results:

  • imagen_d1.png: Using the full domain name I checked the "Assign applications to Windows/AD users" option and the server is running
  • imagen_d2.png: after that I pushed the "update users" button and the user profiles list didn't show any user
  • imagen_d3.png: I tried the same thing using the short domain name, the result was the same of "imagen_d2.png"
  • imagen_d4.png: I turn on Winflector authorization and I created the "test" user (test / test) and I relaunched the server after that
  • imagen_d5.png: Using the browser I logged in using the test / test
  • imagen_d6.png: I selected the opcion "Run" to launch the cacl.exe
  • imagen_d7.png: the app was launched successfully

I attached the images.

Thanks and regards,

Marcos

OK. But the error 2033/10060 occured on VTM client, and you made tests with Winflector users on html client. We have to keep one path of testing to get predictable results. Please try the same (Winflector authentication) on the native client, and if it works switch to Windows authentication and try again:

1. Try to uncheck 'Authorize only members...' and then try to log in using 'ternium' on the server and 'ternium.techint.net' on the VTM client.

2. Set 'ternium' on the server, check 'Authorize only members...' then 'Assign applications...' and 'Update users'.

Hi, hoping you're doing well

Sorry if I'm causing any trouble I apologize for that

I tested before on the web browser because our clients are going to use that tool mostly

I'm connected to the server with remote desktop and testing from my PC

I did what you suggested, here are the results:

  • m0.png: I launched the server with administrative privileges
  • m1.png: using the client and de server configured with winflector authentication, I logged in using the winflector user.
  • m2.png: it shows the app calc.exe
  • m3.png: it shows the calc launched
  • m4.png: i have changed the server configuration to local Windows/Active Directory, with domain name ternium
  • m5.png: using my credentials and the full domain name I tried logging and it threw me an error #2046/50005
  • m6.png: using my credentials and the short domain name I tried logging and it threw me an error #2046/50005
  • m7.png: using the same configuration Windows/Active Directory, I tried logging using the local user "Administrator" that is part of Phindows user group
  • m8.png: I could login
  • m9.png: I tried to launch the calc.exe and it threw me an error 53: SRV: general error starting application, 1058,0. Loc (GTeInializeCommunication)
  • domain_users_2.png: It shows all the users that are part of the gruop, you can see the local user "root" and my user "c.merodriguez"
  • imagen1.png: It shows all the users that are allow to log locally, you can see the group and my user.

my credentials are valid to login, in fact my user is part of Administrator group.

If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know

Marcos

Hello There,

with regards,

I have installed Winflector server in my Windows 8.1 and I am using internet connection with my Public IP and also I installed the Winflector client in my other PC.

I did all installation based on this guide:

http://winflectorexpert.com/how-to-use-quickbooks-remotely/?fbclid=IwAR2o1cjQHSWx6XF3gAvRxK-AbWy-1XNOwZ4iAgacjPyOGpxdzUKmk0yYV50

Now I tried to access my application but it shows the following error which is attached

The client has no network connection with the server. Something blocks TCP connection on port 6601. Please fix it on the router or on the server and then everything should be working properly.
